Take a Kid Fishing This Weekend at the Salato Wildlife Education Center

Frankfort, Ky. - School has started, fall is around the corner and the fish are still biting. If you didn’t get the chance to take a kid fishing this summer, now is the time. Don’t put your fishing rods away just yet. Instead, come out to the lakes at the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources’ headquarters in Frankfort for some fishy fun from 10 a.m. – noon on Saturday, Sept. 13. Salato Wildlife Education Center staff and volunteers are ready to assist with any catch, big or small. The event costs $10. This fee includes a light lunch for the kids of hot dogs, chips and drinks. Parents can eat with their kids for an additional $5. Bring your favorite fishing rod or let us provide rods and bait. Registration and pre-payment are required by calling 1-800-858-1549, ext. 4445. Learn more about upcoming events at the Salato Center on the Internet at fw.ky.gov.
