Time to spare? Whether you are willing to donate several hours or several weeks a year, we promise the experience will be worthwhile. You don’t have to be a wildlife specialist to be a Salato Wildlife Education Center volunteer. All that is required is a positive attitude, an interest in animals and/or plants, and the ability to work with people of all ages.
Whether you enjoy working indoors or outdoors, Salato has a place for everyone! Some volunteers may choose to work in Guest Services, leading tour groups or conducting educational programs; while other volunteers may choose to help in the Native Plant Greenhouses or at Salato’s front desk.
Everyone has something to offer. We accept those willing to volunteer from ages 16 and up. Retirees are welcome!
Just download the volunteer application and mail it to: Volunteer Program, Salato Wildlife Education Center, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, #1 Sportsman's Lane, Frankfort, KY 40601. For more information, call (502) 564-7863 or 1-800-858-1549. We look forward to hearing from you!
