FRANKFORT, Ky. (Dec. 22, 2021) - The public shooting range at
Jones-Keeney Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Caldwell County is now reopened to allow shotgun and archery use only.
The range is on U.S. 62 between Princeton and Dawson Springs. Those cities experienced widespread damage from a tornado that moved through the region on the evening of Dec. 10. The wooded area surrounding the range also was impacted by the storm.
Staff with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources visited the site to assess damage and have now partially reopened the range.
Rifle and pistol shooting is still not available at this time.
Normally, the range offers rifle, pistol and shotgun shooting opportunities. It is operated in cooperation with the Caldwell County Sportsman's Club.
