FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 2, 2025) — The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources will host an informational meeting regarding Bullock Pen Lake and the Bullock Pen Water District’s plans to build a new water plant at the lake. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 6:30-8 p.m. (EDT), and it will be open to the public.
Officials representing Kentucky Fish and Wildlife and the Bullock Pen Water District will be present to discuss plans to build a new plant with increased water draw capacity to replace the existing, older water plant, as well as to provide background information and initial impact studies. The public is invited to make comments or ask questions following the discussion.
Bullock Pen Lake is a reservoir lake, located in Grant and Boone counties, created in 1963 with the damming of Bullock Pen Creek to supply water service to Crittenden and nearby communities. Kentucky Fish and Wildlife holds the deed to the lake and acts as the steward for the lake and surrounding public land, except for the water district property and local private landowners.
