The Nature and Wildlife Fund, previously known as the Nongame Wildlife/Natural Areas Fund, is use to protect and manage Kentucky's finest natural areas as state nature preserves and to care for all wildlife not taken by hunting or fishing. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources and the Kentucky State Nature Preserves Commission cooperate on programs that protect Kentucky's rare plants and animals; acquire and protect the most important and threatened forest, wetlands, and prairies; and provide management to our diverse wildlife heritage.
