The meeting is open to the public, and members of the commission will participate either in person or via video teleconference.

The meeting will be livestreamed and archived on the department's YouTube channel at youtube.com/FishandWildlifeKY. A link to the livestream will be posted on the department's homepage at fw.ky.gov before the start of the meeting.

The agenda includes time-sensitive items only:

  • Setting the number of elk hunt permits available through the 2023 elk hunt drawing.
  • Authorizing the commissioner to promulgate regulations necessary for the department to conduct administrative functions in compliance with current Kentucky Revised Statutes and with Senate Bill 241 should it become law.
  • Authorizing the commissioner to conduct auctions as necessary to dispose of surplus and confiscated property to comply with Senate Bill 241 should it become law.

Any recommendation by the commission to amend a state administrative regulation must receive legislative approval before becoming law. The process of promulgating regulations spans several months.

The next planned quarterly commission meeting is Friday, June 2 in Frankfort.
