Conservation Officer Sergeant,Law Enforcement Division
Sgt. Owens has worked as a conservation officer for Kentucky Fish and Wildlife for nearly nine years. Based in Hazard, Owens supervises and trains other conservation officers, enforcing state and federal laws, particularly the wildlife and boating laws and regulations administered by the agency.
Following the tornado in Mayfield in 2021 and the Eastern Kentucky flooding in 2022, Owens worked countless hours rescuing at-risk residents, patrolling to prevent looting in homes and businesses, distributing supplies to families in need, and recovering victims.
