​​Sympson Lake will be closed to all boating activity in 2026​

​​​Due to dam construction requiring the lowering of Sympson Lake in Nelson County, the lake will be closed to all boating in 2026. The boat ramp is now closed, and all access along and around the dam is prohibited, including bank fishing.  Bank fishing along  Ben Irving Road is expected to close as the project progresses.
