Identification: The Cutthroat Trout has a body shape similar to Rainbow Trout. It is distinguished from other trout by having a red-orange slash on each side of the lower jaw. It also has very few spots on the head, with an increasing number toward the tail. Adults may attain large size, weighing over 10 pounds.
Distribution and Habitat: Native to the United States west of the Continental Divide. In 2019, Cutthroat Trout were introduced into the Lake Cumberland Tailwater.
