Kentucky Fish and Wildlife conservation officers investigating fatal incident in Grayson County

​​FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 9, 2022) Conservation officers with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources are investigating the death of a Grayson County man on Sunday.

According to initial reports, Jeffrey Kurbis, 62, was mowing his yard Sunday off Green Farms Road near the community of Falls of Rough when he and the lawnmower entered Rough River.

Kentucky Conservation Officer Ben Fisher responded to the scene and observed a strip of mowed grass that descended a steep hill and continued to the river.

Emergency responders recovered Kurbis' body from the river at around 5 p.m., and the Grayson County Coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.
