Kentucky Fish and Wildlife receives second donation of body armor

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 09, 2024) — A second K9 with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources Law Enforcement has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Cosmo’s vest was sponsored by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. and embroidered with the sentiment “Born to Love - Trained to Serve - Loyal Always”.

Partnered with Conservation Officer Evan Hughes in western Kentucky, Cosmo is one of three Labrador retrievers, all siblings, used to assist conservation officers across the commonwealth. K9 Gambit, partnered with Conservation Officer Cody Berry in southcentral Kentucky was gifted with a protective vest in December.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States.
