Kentucky State Fair

​​​Visit the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife's booth at the 2018 Kentucky State Fair, August 16-26. The booth will be situated in the "Main Street" area of the Exposition Center's "South Wing - B". During your visit, you can:

  •  Buy fishing or hunting licenses​ and permits
  •  Complete the range portion of a Hunter Education course at our indoor air-rifle range
  •  Go on a simulated hunt with our "laser shot" game
  •  Take a selfie with our life-size Kentucky bull elk
  •  Ask a Conservation Officer or other staff your fish, wildlife or boating questions
  • Meet Television Host Chad Miles from noon to 3 p.m. (eastern) Aug. 23
  •  Help us keep Kentucky Wild
  •  Learn about careers in fish and wildlife conservation
  •  See live animals on display everyday but be sure to attend Thursday, Aug 23 12-3 for Salato day
  •  Spin our prize wheel for a chance to win

The Fish and wildlife booth opens daily at 9:00 am (eastern) and closes at 9:00 pm. Hunter Education is open to anyone age 9 or older and is required of hunters born in 1975 or later. Certification requires successful completion of the classroom portion either online or at an instructor-led course prior to successfully completing the range portion.
