THE​ KENTUCKY STATE FAIR!


Come visit the KY Department of Fish and Wildlife Booth and check out the new look and added attractions. As always, you will be able to purchase your hunting and fishing license, test your shooting skills at the Crosman air rifle range, complete the range day portion of your Hunter Education Certification, join Kentucky Wild, and so much more!

Booth Location: Booth B317, South Wing (Main Street) of Kentucky Expo Center

Hours: Mon - Fri 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. (Eastern) with extended hours to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Closes Sunday, Aug. 27 at 6:00 p.m.

ATTRACTIONS AT OUR BOOTH EVERY DAY OF THE FAIR

  • Buy your fishing or hunting license.

  • Help us keep KENTUCKY WILD - learn more & join.

  • Shoot targets at our indoor air rifle range.

  • Get your questions answered by a Conservation Officer, Biologist, or other staff regarding fish, wildlife, or boating.

  • ​Check out Law Enforcements' new "Operation Game Theft." See wildlife that has been poached and illegally taken.

  • Spin our prize wheel for a chance to win some gear.

  • ​See how many fish you can identify at our fish display!

  • Want more Wildlife? Stop at the KYFWR Booth and talk to a biologist about ways to improve your property for Wildlife!​

HUNTER EDUCATION
RANGE DAY INFORMATION

  1. Complete the online course at fw.ky.gov prior to attending the fair. Print and bring a copy of your online course completion certification to the Kentucky State Fair and then complete the range portion at the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources booth on Main Street in the South Wing. Online course options are available here on our Hunter Education page. (Click on the “Online Courses” tab under “Get Hunter Education Certified”)
  2. Pre-register for the Range Day at State Fair online here: https://app.fw.ky.gov/edcourse/default.aspx (Scroll down, find the day you want to attend. Click on the correct day. Click the green “Register Now.” Follow the steps as directed.)​

  3. More info at State Fair Website. Range Day is FREE, but you must pay admission for the fair and parking to enter.

    Come anytime during the day you registered for.

    The range portion will take approximately 30-45 minutes.
