An Official Website of the Commonwealth of Kentucky
The Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources (KDFWR) provides an interactive statewide shooting range map to help hunters and recreational shooters find public shooting ranges throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Our mission is to support safe, responsible shooting and improve access to practice locations for hunters, target shooters, and firearm enthusiasts.
If you witness illegal or unsafe activity at a public shooting range or related outdoor facility, you can report it:
An annual or one-day shooting range permit is now required to use firearms and archery equipment on any department managed, leased or affiliated shooting range. The permit system will help the agency better gauge how many people use the ranges, promote safe practices, and support maintenance and improvements.
The permit is free to annual hunting or fishing license holders, but you must obtain it through My Profile.
For more information, please read the following Shooting Range Permit Press Release.
Use the Kentucky Shooting Range Map below to locate shooting facilities near you. This tool displays public and listed ranges across the state and helps you plan your visit. Range listings may include rifle, pistol, shotgun, muzzleloader, and archery opportunities.
